Please don’t ever say that you’ve always wanted to play the piano and do nothing about it. You are never too old to learn, even as a beginner.
I offer music theory, keyboard and piano lessons for students of all age groups and all abilities. I have taught children as young as five years old and my oldest student is 90 years young. I love interacting with my students, sharing their enjoyment and seeing them progress.
I teach piano and theory to grade 8 and beyond. Most of my students study for ABRSM exams.
When teaching children, I know they want fun and achievement, so theory is incorporated with learning to play the piano.
Initially lessons are 30 minutes long and I expect daily practice at home where possible. I encourage children’s parents to stay during the lessons, especially if it is a young beginner – then they can work together between lessons.
I offer private piano and theory tuition in my home in Portchester, Hampshire and can also offer lessons via Skype.

What my students say…
I could not have wished for a better piano teacher than Judith Williams. Being able to play the piano has always been a dream of mine and with Judith’s help I was able to get my piano playing from absolute beginner level up to grade four in just a years time. She is a lovely, kind, caring and supportive person, always up for a joke and interesting conversations. No matter what I am struggling with, she finds an exercise which helps me and improves my playing. I also greatly enjoy the pieces she teaches me: they are always beautiful but challenging enough at the same time, so it never gets boring. I always look forward to our weekly piano lessons.
