I was an organist at Portchester Crematorium for over 40 years and have played for thousands of funerals for all denominations. Alongside this, I have played for hundreds of church weddings and civil ceremonies.

I have also been both an organist and choir trainer at a number of local churches in Hampshire and West Sussex.

I can play a range of music from pop to classical, hymns, old and new, and I have a huge repertoire. No request is too difficult!

Please get in touch to arrange for me to play for church services, weddings or funerals.

I have known Judith professionally for 35 years – in fact, we go back even further bearing in mind her work as a piano tutor at my school when I was there!

Judith is more than a professional musician. She is a professional musician with a passion for providing her clients with what they actually want. Many is the time when I have known Judith to go out of her way to obtain the score for a piece of music not usually associated with an organ or piano. Even more often have I stood and watched Judith (usually a few minutes before the arrival of the cortege) listening to a last-minute requested piece of music, translating it onto a score sheet, and playing it seemingly effortlessly.

Speaking as a funeral celebrant I can honestly say that Judith would always be my ‘go-to’ organist, and that is because she has the knowledge and experience to ‘read’ a particular situation and play an unexpected, but completely perfect, accompaniment or background to a committal or other part of a service. For example, she only has to hear mention of service in the Royal Navy or Royal Marines, and the deceased’s farewell will be accompanied by the Bugle call “Sunset” gently playing as the curtains close – a detail greatly appreciated by the family.

Judith also has a vast knowledge of what is appropriate for members of many organisations such as Freemasons, Buffaloes, WI, etc.

I wholeheartedly recommend her.
